Colt Starting & Basic Training
All horses that are brought in for basic training are started back in the round pen, and worked from the ground up. We focus on putting lots of time into each horse and only take a limited number of horses.
We let each horse progress at its own rate, but by the end of 30-60 days, your horse will walk, trot, and lope, come to a balanced stop, turn to the left and right, back up, and stand while you are getting on and off.
Advanced Training (Barrels, Roping, Showing, Etc.)
Limited spots are available for horses that are ready for the next step after basic training. We specialize in starting rope horses and barrel horses and also do a lot of foundation work for reining cowhorses, cutting horses, and stock horses/ranch versatility horses. There is a 60 day minimum for advanced training. The first 30 days is focused on creating a solid base to work from. Then we will introduce things slowly, and progress as they are ready, maintaining consistency and correctness as they learn and progress. Horses may be hauled to events if desired, and will be entered in events when we feel they are ready.
Training includes feed, basic daily care, riding 5-6 times per week (weather permitting)
Shoeing, vet care, and supplements are at owners expense
Entry fees, hauling fees, and extra expenses are billed at the end of each month
We would love to talk to you more about a training program designed specifically for you and your horse. Please feel free to contact us.
