Leaning T Performance Horses
Laramie and Corey began working together, training, buying, and selling horses in the summer of 2008. They have since expanded to raising their own performance prospects, and producing solid rodeo horses.
Their focus is on rope horses and barrel horses, and starting colts. They base their program around putting the correct foundation on all horses to give them the best chance at succeeding in their future.
They are based out of central Texas for most of the year. But they love to travel, and, especially in the summer, they are on the road a lot going to rodeos and barrel races.

Laramie Terry
Laramie grew up on the back of a horse. Her father worked on ranches in Nevada when she was a small child, and when her family moved to Idaho he started training horses full time and showing in the National Reined Cowhorse Association. She shadowed him and helped him in his business throughout her childhood, while also competing in junior rodeo and high school rodeo.
She attended Sul Ross State University, in Alpine, TX, and graduated in the spring of 2008 with a B.S. in Animal Science with a focus in Equine Science.
Since 2008 she has focused solely on training. She loves putting a solid foundation on a horse, so they are ready to go on to any discipline. Since 2014 she has been out on the road campaigning several horses and fine tuning her training methods for the barrel pen. She is now looking forward to continuing with some of her own prospects, and competing in the Texas Circuit, with the hopes of making a run for the NFR when she has a couple of good horses ready.
She truly enjoys the training process, and helping horses (and their owners) find their potential.

Corey Terry
Corey grew up in central California and while he didn't grow up on a ranch, he took every opportunity to work for local ranchers and help out his neighbors. He decided from a young age he wanted to follow a lifestyle of good horsemanship and ranching.
His early childhood, high school, and college years were filled with rodeos. He competed in all the boys events as a youngster, then focused on bulls and broncs later on. In high school, he qualified for the California State High School Rodeo Finals in 1997 and 1998. Then he graduated early and went straight to college. In 1999, at 16 years old, he was the youngest person ever to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo, and still holds that record. He qualified for the CNFR for the next 2 years as well. In 2001, he won 3rd place in the bull riding in the Southwest Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, He then went on to be the Reserve Champion at the Conference Finals in Hobbs, New Mexico. After his eligibility was up in the NIRA he went on to compete in the PRCA in bull riding. He continues to compete in saddle bronc, team roping, and occasionally bull riding.
Aside from rodeo he has worked with several different horsemen. He likes to work with different styles of training because he believes no one way is the only way to work with a horse. Most of his schooling horseback was in different ranch aspects, but he has also worked with sheriff posse horses, dude horses, mules, gaited horses, and drafts.
In the summer of 2007, he got a pretty unique opportunity. He spent 3 months in Paris, France, working for Disney's Buffalo Bill Wild West Show. He worked in the show as a cowboy, and basically put on a show for tourists, like the original Buffalo Bill tent show. He believes experiences like that make us appreciate the lifestyle that we have the opportunity to live.
Corey truly enjoys starting colts, and he has a real touch for making the first rides easy and uneventful for the horse. His passion though is competing in rodeos, and he is always thinking about the next one!
